Country people travel to Wisconsin Dells for their annual getaway. Wisconsin Dells offers adventure golf, arcades, and water parks for country kids and hundreds of “sit-down restaurants” for country adults. While inexperienced travelers and timid diners can choose between dozens of motels and “fast food places,” seasoned visitors and adventurous eaters may opt for resort hotels with indoor water slides and upscale Italian, Mexican and Chinese restaurants. Country people do not travel to Wisconsin Dells on Memorial Day or Labor Day because they attend local festivals on those days.
If you discussing summer travel with a country person you must not assume that he or she is planning a trip to Wisconsin Dells. Country people who are retired or do not have children travel to Branson or Gatlinburg to see shows instead. Wealthy country people travel to Las Vegas and are likely to feel insulted by an assumption of travel to “The Dells.”
